Mailbox Damaged

A mailbox in Phase 2 was damaged today between the hours of 1-6pm. It appears to have been hit with a red vehicle (see paint chips, below). A neighbor filed a report with the sheriff's department. It's unknown if any mail was stolen.

As always, please continue to report any suspicious vehicles, people or activity to the police.

Thank you to Chuck and Michelle for sending pictures.

I actually noticed that the boxes had been hit around 11AM. I mentioned something to my husband while organizing things for dinner. It was closer to 1PM when I noticed that the doors were now open. Not sure if this helps any? Is this the reason that the outgoing mail doors are also open throughout the development or is there another reason for this?

I spoke with the post office and the carrier said, there were mail items in box upon delivery. The carrier took all those items out of the box as well as the mail they were to deliver back to the depot. They encouraged me to stop our mail delivery and just pick it up there until we can get the box replaced. They felt if it was theft the keys that were in the unused lock boxes would have been stole and attempted to use in other mail boxes on premise. I removed over 75 keys from the box just to make sure no one came back and tried just that.

They are sending the supervisor out to asess the situation today.

Hopefully I can get more answers today.
