Park Repair Jobs

As several people have probably noticed, the bench and trash can holder in Grand Central Park have been destroyed. The bench needs two 2x4's replaced. The trash can holder needs several new boards, maybe 1x2's? Both look like easy fixes. Several of the tree stakes have been pulled from the ground, and garbage is beginning to accumulate. I cleaned some trash yesterday but couldn't get to all of it.

Does anyone have a little time to fix these items? Or does anyone have some extra lumber laying around to donate?

And does anyone know who is responsible for the park vandalism?

Thanks in advance if anyone can help out with the repairs!

I will check with Juan tonight to see what we have, if anything.
As far as the vandalism goes, there is no way to find out exactly. So many kids enjoy the park...pin pointing the exact participants is pretty impossible. I think it is important, as parents, to explain to thier children that the park belongs to everyone in the neighborhood, and it should be treated with the same respect as we expect them to treat our own personal property and homes. Mandy, lets set a time/date to get out there and see if we can't clean it up a bit...just let me know:)

I think that some people send their children to the park as a babysitter and they really have no supervision. It is sad that I don't feel safe having my kids play there.

i do respect your concerns however i do see kids that do not belong to this neighborhood riding their bikes and vandalising our parks. i do know for a fact that our kids respect our neighborhood!
