Community Meeting - Oct 14

Jim Ehnborn and a couple neighbors are organizing another community meeting. The date is October 14 (7-9pm) at the fire station. Jim has been placing flyers on everyone's door. If for some reason you didn't receive one, email the blog with your address or contact Jim for a copy. Please try to make it to the meeting, as there are some important issues on the agenda.

Michelle Spencer obtained a copy of the Phase 3 CCR for Grand Firs. MANY THANKS FOR HER RESEARCH.

I will be adding this item to the agenda for the 14th. They were filed with Pierce County on Sept. 11, 2008. I just read it last night.

Summary - Paragraph 10.1 Minimum home sq footage shall be reduced to 1200 sq ft for both one and multi-story home for only Grand Firs, Phase 3

Paragraph 10.12 There shall be no requirement for authentic or simulated brick or stone on the front of any home within Phase 3.

The original CCR's Paragraph 12.12 allows vinyl siding.

I want to ask the attorney what we can do to get the Phase 3 CCRs changed.

These amendments are pretty disappointing. It's also disappointing that we weren't told about this back in 2008. Personally, I'd love for Grand Firs to be divided into two separate developments, especially if there is going to be a huge change in the homes that will be built in Phase 3. Tear out the street that connects the two (but maybe keep the sidewalks). Our half would use the north gate and the other half would use the south gate. I'm sure it would be a difficult and lengthy process to do that.. Jim, perhaps you could ask the attorney if something like that is even a remote possibility?

Maybe we could put big cement planters blocking the road. If there is an emergency, they will just need to usethe proper gate to access the homes. Just a thought.
