Well I still haven't heard back from Jim Selden. Has anyone had any recent contact with him? I sent a couple emails asking if he'd be interested in attending a neighborhood Q&A session but have not received a reply. So I'm guessing he's not interested.
In the meantime, we can just continue to take care of the things that we do have control over (trash, dog/cat messes, fence boards, responsible parking, safe driving, yard maitenance, etc). Thanks again to those who have already put in some work to improve the fence and parks! Everything looks great :)

Hey Mandy,
I have some info on the HOA take over if you want to call me.... 253-222-9978...
I worked on the hoa board in my last neighborhood... and have contact with our legal people...
Nancy
I have reserved a meeting room on April 22 from 7pm to 9pm at the Fire House on 7th. The room is available at no charge for non-profit groups.
I am writing an agenda and am recommending that we have several committees to run the daily operations. We need to develop a positive plan to let Jim be responsible of the over-all management and the home owners be responsible for the daily operations.
I requested have a response from the Fire Department regarding both gates. They sent Jim an e-mail regarding the issues with both gates.
I have been President of a HOA consisting of about 500 homes in IL. I retired last year.

Hello, Im addressing this comment as a response to the one above. Im wondering...is Jim Seldon planning on attending this meeting? If not, then what is the point exactly...no offense. Im under the impression that a petition is being started to try and get the homeowner association turned over to the homeowners, and that we cannot just "appoint" an association and any members with out the "go ahead" first.I also feel that alot of changes have already started being made in the neighborhood(the things we as individual homeowners, have actual control of), the garbage, fenceboards, etc...this blog alone has made some positive changes already. Just wondering if the meeting on the 22nd is going to be productive, and right now, cannot see how it could be without Jim Seldon himself there. Afterall, everything we have control over, is being addressed...the rest of the issues, we need Jim for, right?
We also found out that if it states in the CC&R's that 70% of the homes have to be sold before the HOA is turned over, there is NO way that will happen a minute sooner, no matter how many petitions are signed. I agree with the above comment, I think this blog alone has addressed some very good things and people are starting to respond.
