***UPDATE: WORK PARTY CANCELLED***
There will be a work party on Saturday, Feb 19 (thanks Michelle for noticing my typo) at 10am to make repairs at the Phase 1 park. It looks like the lumber is in good shape and can be re-used. We just need some man-power to get things in working order. Bring your tools! (If you can make it, please leave a comment or email me.)
I met with Mark and Rob last night and we discussed the latest park vandalism. Within the past few weeks, there has been extensive damage to the big toy and a table. Volunteers have repaired these items several times already but kids keep destroying them. Therefore, the HOA may be forced to remove these items permanently if the vandalism doesn't stop. This will be the last time we repair items in the park.
If you know who is responsible, talk to someone on the HOA board. And parents, please understand that if your children are caught causing damage, you will be held financially responsible for the repairs.

Feb. 20th is Sunday. I have plans on Sunday, but not on Saturday.
There has been damage in the Phase 3 park also and my husband ran off a group of kids last week that dont even live in the neighborhood and they were hanging out at the park. The inside of the fence and some of the equipment has been spray painted :(
My husband repaired the big toy today at Central Park. The only thing left to do at the park is repairing the picnic table. My husband says it really is beyond repair, considering it needs welding. Maybe someone in the neighborhood is a welder, perhaps? That would be awesome if someone who knows what they are doing could donate alittle of thier time and skill to fixing the table. If the bigtoy is damaged again, I will be extremely dissappointed, considering next time it is vandalised, it might now be fixable at all.
What does it cost to replace the wooden table with the same type of steel tables that are in the other parks? Same solution for the trash container. The steel tables and trash containers appear to be indestructible and they look much nicer.
