Nuisance Barking...

We got an e-mail from a frustrated neighbor yesterday, asking us to post something about barking dogs. Dogs bark...thats just what they do, right? But please, be courteous to your neighbors by being aware of how much noise your animals make during the day. If you leave your pets outside all day...ask your neighbors what they hear while you are away. I find that open dialogue about any problem is the quickest way to solve it!

I'm so glad someone else brought this up. We have been dealing with this problem off and on also.

Does anyone ever talk to their neighbors? People have NO idea what their dogs do while we are away from the house. Why don't people just confront the situation & nicely tell the neighbor that there may be a problem. I would hate for someone to end up like us, receiving a nasty gram from the county about our barking dogs. What's really funny is the complaint was filed against our dogs during a time I was home all but a few hours a week & it wasn't our dogs. It would be great if neighbors could talk to each other instead of sending anonymous emails so no one really knows who is at fault. If chatting with your neighbor doesn't remedy the problem, a post in the blog won't help either. If a chat doesn't work, then you can file a complaint with Pierce County. Owners of barking dogs can eventually be fined for excessive barking..

Im sorry that happened to you. We havent filed any complaints or said something to the neighbors bc we cant figure out which one of three houses its coming from. And its not a constant problem either. Plus we are in the back in Phase 3 and the constant construction noises pretty much mask any other noises so its kinda pointless!
