Vacant Reich Houses - Yard Work

Reich has stopped maintaining the yards of their vacant houses (obviously). Last time they came out, they left heaps of lawn clippings all over the street and sidewalks. Homeowners have gotten the run-around when they've inquired about the upkeep, or lack thereof.

We're wondering if anyone would like to volunteer their time to help clean up some of these eyesores. The lawns are going to seed and weeds are 2-3 feet tall in the flower beds. We know people are busy enough with their own homes, but if anyone wants to volunteer an hour to mow a lawn or pull some weeds, we're sure the people on the Reich street would be grateful!

Absolutley Juan and I are in!I know that we have intentions of knocking out the yard next to us, as soon as my husband builds the stamina!:)
Just a quick bit of info from me, I was present during a phone call made by the onsite agent for Sterling and Reich homes, to Shauna, JimSeldon's assistant. I could hear her through the phone, and when she was asked what is being done with the landscaping of the vacant homes here on 230th street....she jokingingly replied with..."hell if I know!" Then she proceeded to state that the up keep of the vacant home's lawns is the responsibility of the homeownwers, and our homeowners association. What? Even if any of us knew how to actually utilize this phantom home owner association at all, why is REICH'S empty homes our responsibility? Shouldn't they be required to uphold the CC&R's like the rest of the homeowners are required to? It's a big mess, still with no solutions, and NOONE to hold accountable!Maybe an out-pour of calls from frustrated neighbors into John Selden's office can MAYBE dredge up some results. I'd be happy with knowing what direction we need to be going in, in order to get things done. Just alittle information for those concerned.

We went over and mowed the front of lot 45 last night. Joseph, the neighbor on the right (if you are looking at the house from the street) came out and told us that the 2 houses across the street had been sold. He was also told that Reich was going out of business and closing their doors. So getting any help or answers from them at this point probably isnt going to happen.. We are going to have our boys go do another lawn or 2 today. I know the neighbors over there are really frustrated and happy to have the help.

Thanks so much, Nancy...you are very right. It has been alittle frustrating, but its so awesome knowing that even neighbors who don't live on the REICH street, are helping out! We really appreciate anything you and your family members do to help out.

We will be taking care of the lot next to our house, hopefully this weekend. We are lot 54, but without a map readily available, I can't tell you if it is lot 53 or 55.
